Description

This 3-Way Stereo speaker set was designed around a Peerless 5-1/4 inch woofer, a Dayton Audio 4 inch Full Range driver and a 1 inch Dayton Audio Soft Dome tweeter in a rear slot ported bass reflex enclosure. The tweeter has a reflective lens in the form of a ball to make it omni-directional and fires upwards.

The goal was to have a relatively small 3-way speaker that can provide a real sense of scale with great soundstage, imaging and presence. These do not disappoint and will outperform anything you can find off the shelf for the same price as building these yourself in my opinion. We recommend that you use an amplifier that can handle a 4 to 8 Ohm load and is rated to produce at least 25 Watts per channel.

When following this build plan, it can be built with everyday woodworking tools and by someone that has intermediate woodworking skills. The construction follows butt joints. Finishing is up to you and you can follow my build exactly with the painted finish in the colour of your choice, or any other finish that will suit you.

When following this build plan, the end result should give you speakers that will have the following approximate specifications:
