For less than $300 plus the cost of wood and a few other parts, you can build yourself a set of 3-way floor standing speakers that will perform similar to commercial offerings that retail for around $4000, and utilises the some of the same drivers used in this design. These speakers perform excellently with music of a wide variety of genres. Soundstage and imaging is excellent and the vocals are very neutral with a clear high end that is detailed and will not become fatiguing over time. With high quality and well recorded music, these speakers disappear before you and you will not believe the sound is coming from such a small speaker. The wife acceptance factor (WAF) is also good on these, since they are so small. Note though, that they will need some breathing room from the back and side walls, at least 2 feet.
